Welcome to the website for the Motion Research Group in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo directed by Professor John McPhee. We specialize in dynamic simulation, model-based control, and design optimization of mechanical, mechatronic, and biomechatronic multibody systems.

    PhD candidate Ali Nasr received Best Student Paper Award at the 2021 ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference. His research focused on “Model-Based Design and Optimization of Passive Shoulder Exoskeletons”. Congratulations!
