Church Music and Worship

Programs

EuphoniumStudents registered in regular or degree programs may register for the minor. Students in non-degree or post-degree studies may be admitted to the diploma.

Requirements are identical for all programs (minor and diploma). Students must complete eight term courses from those listed below with a cumulative average of at least 65%. All courses are regular 0.5 courses and count towards fulfillment of requirements for graduation. Before registration, students should consult with the Program Director, Ken Hull, at the University of Waterloo Department of Music, Conrad Grebel University College, to determine which courses will be available during the coming year.

Minor

Students enrolled in honours or four-year general major academic plans in Arts, or in honours plans in other faculties, may elect to pursue a minor or option in Church Music and Worship. Students must complete eight courses from the list below, with a cumulative average of at least 65%. Courses should be chosen in consultation with the Program Director in the Department of Music. Students should note that no more than five courses can be double-counted with their major.

Diploma

This program is for full or part-time students who wish to explore issues of church music but who are not necessarily seeking a university degree or who already hold such a degree. Students must choose five courses from the required course list below. For the diploma to be granted, the cumulative average in these courses must be at least 65%. Church Music and Worship specialization

The Church Music and Worship specialization is open to students who are enrolled in the Honours Music academic plan. Admission to the Honours Music - Church Music and Worship specialization is by consent of the Program Director, Ken Hull, upon completion of the first year of studies.
