WATERLOO, Ont. (Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010) - The University of Waterloo will launch the first institute in North America to conduct interdisciplinary research focusing on the Hellenistic Age, a period when Greek culture and influence spread from Spain in the West to India in the East.
The Waterloo Institute For Hellenistic Studies, which includes University of Waterloo and international researchers, will be officially unveiled at a celebration on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, 25 Caroline St. N. in Uptown Waterloo.
WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, Dec. 6, 2010) - More than 1,000 Ontario high school students will learn about health and movement at the University of Waterloo's Kinesiology Lab Days taking place weekdays from Dec. 7 to 16.
The program, hosted by Waterloo's department of kinesiology, was established 37 years ago to showcase the relatively new field of kinesiology at the time - the science of human movement. Since then, the University of Waterloo has established itself as an international leader in kinesiology research and education.
WATERLOO, Ont., (Friday, Dec. 3, 2010) - High school students in Waterloo Region will participate in Canada's only federal-provincial government conference simulation at the University of Waterloo next Tuesday (Dec. 7) and Wednesday (Dec. 8).
The simulation, organized by Waterloo's political science department and the regional history heads association, has been held at the university for 45 years.
