WATERLOO, Ont. (Friday, Jan. 28, 2011) - The University of Waterloo and its Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology (CPATT) today officially launched the new $1.5 million endowed Norman W. McLeod Chair in Sustainable Pavement Engineering, which will focus on advanced pavement research, collaborative projects with industry, and graduate student teaching and supervision.
The main goal of the new chair is to develop roads and highways that are safer for drivers and better for the environment, using green pavement technology.
HUNTSVILLE. Ont. (Friday, Jan. 21, 2011) - The University of Waterloo and the Town of Huntsville are today celebrating the opening of the Waterloo Summit Centre for the Environment.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the event, which offers self-guided tours of the building and its many environmental features. A reception - hosted by Industry Minister Tony Clement, Huntsville Mayor Claude Doughty and University of Waterloo President Feridun Hamdullahpur - will follow. Although registration is now closed, unregistered guests are welcome to tour the facility between 5 to 6 p.m.
WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, Jan. 17, 2011) - University of Waterloo researchers are seeking local area children aged six to 12 with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to participate in a major study investigating the communicative difficulties that often co-occur with the disorder.
WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, Jan. 10, 2011) - Grade 10 students and their parents can get a head start on planning for a university education by attending an evening event at the University of Waterloo on Thursday, Jan. 20.
Grade 10 Family Night will help students understand what they can do in Grade 10 to prepare for applying to any of Ontario's universities. Topics include courses to take in high school and resources to learn about the hundreds of university programs offered in Ontario.
