University of Waterloo recognized for leadership and talent development

The University of Waterloo's innovative model of education received recognition today for its blend of hands-on learning, entrepreneurship, scholarship and professional training.

The Faculty of Engineering and Department of Co-operative Education & Career Action at the University of Waterloo were presented with the Creative Destruction Lab's Labour award today for their contribution to Canada’s economic development and leadership in developing talent in demand globally.  Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is part of the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

New book shows how Waterloo became a global innovation leader

At the launch of his new book, Innovation and Entrepreneurship are in the Waterloo Genome, Kenneth McLaughlin, distinguished professor emeritus at the University of Waterloo, will tell the behind-the-scenes story of how the University disrupted post-secondary education.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community are invited to join McLaughlin for an engaging dialogue and discussion. The new book explores pivotal moments in the history of the University — from its entrepreneurial beginnings to its position as Canada’s leading innovation university.
