Expert Advisory: Economist available to comment on the federal budget
Professor Jean-Paul Lam, from the Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo, is available to speak to the media about the 2016 federal budget. Professor Lam can provide commentary in both English and French
“The focus of the Liberals’ election platform was to make significant investments in infrastructure, address climate change and help the middle class with various tax cuts and social measures," said Professor Lam. "We expect to see these themes figure predominantly in the budget tomorrow. It will also offer a glimpse of the size of deficits to come.”
The Honourable Bill Morneau, minister of finance, will table the budget at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22.
