In light of recent record-setting rainstorm in the GTA the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Environment has a climate change adaptation expert willing to discuss how once-rare weather events pose a substantial risk to our economy, and how modest investments in our infrastructure can save millions of dollars in damages.

As the head of the Climate Change Adaptation Project Professor Blair Feltmate has identified simple, practical and meaningful modifications to the GTA’s infrastructure that will mitigate much of the damage we are seeing this week due to flooding.

Blair Feltmate can be reached by email at bfeltmat@uwaterloo.ca and by phone today after 2:15 pm at 226.339.3506.
