Media are invited to attend the University of Waterloo’s annual CanBuild food drive
More than 200 students will participate in 17 teams across campus to build creative structures using food donations for The Feds Food Bank and The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
Date: Thursday, March 12, 2015
Time: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (peak time expected 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Location: Eight teams will build structures in the Student Life Centre and the remaining nine teams will build in various buildings around campus. A team in the Early Childhood Education will be joined by around 70 toddlers to build a can structure.
UWaterloo CanBuild strives to raise awareness of hunger and the need for food, on campus and in the community. The event engages the campus community to develop teams, collaborate with colleagues and put creativity skills to work by building structures from the food donations.
