Waterloo professor gives public lecture on finding Franklin ship
Waterloo professor who was part of the research team that found the HMS Erebus last month will give a free public lecture about it at the University of Waterloo next week
Robert Park is a professor in the Department of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts at Waterloo.
In his talk entitled, Finding Franklin's Ships and other Remnants of the 1845 Northwest Passage Expedition, Professor Park will describe what archaeological research has revealed about the lives and deaths of the explorers, and how the first of Franklin’s ships missing since the expedition sailed into the Canadian Arctic in 1845 was finally found.
