The students from the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences will present Waterloo West Neighbourhood Fest at the John M. Harper Branch of the Waterloo Public Library and the Stork Family YMCA.
The event will include a variety of engaging activities for children ranging in age from two to 12 years old. Among the scheduled events, children can learn about chemical reactions as they make their own play dough, jump in the pool for junior triathlon training, and find out which Hogwarts house they belong to in an activity based on Harry Potter. Parents accompanying children to the event will receive free admission to YMCA facilities that day. There were more than 250 participants last year.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
