Ontario Association of Optometrists emergency action

On June 15, the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) launched an emergency action to draw attention to chronic funding challenges in eye care and to encourage the provincial government to return to discussions with the OAO to find actionable solutions.

As a result of the emergency action, combined with the infection control measures we’re taking as our clinics reopen, we are currently able to see only a limited number of patients.

We understand that this is a frustrating situation as you may need to wait longer than you expected for an appointment. However, even if we’re unable to see you, we will help you get the care you need by referring you to an alternate eye care provider (e.g. your family physician, an emergency department or an ophthalmologist).

If you have questions about your care, please contact us at 519-888-4062 (Main Clinic) or 519-888-4455 (Health Sciences Campus).
