Join us as the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Université de Montréal École d'Optométrie commemorate the 60th anniversary of the University of Waterloo and the 50th anniversary of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry.
The conference, including dinner, will be free for graduate students in vision sciences and for optometry residents in Canada. There will be a modest fee for faculty, alumni and other attendees attending the Friday dinner and dance.
We are pleased to announce that the name change for the Centre for Contact Lens Research (CCLR) to the Centre for Ocular research and Education (CORE) has been officially approved by the University.
The brand rollout for CORE is scheduled for January 2018, in conjunction with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the organization’s founding.
As part of the kickoff, we will be unveiling a collaborative mural that was completed at the American Academy of Optometry meeting.
The Class of 2021 White Coat Ceremony will take place in the Barbara and Jacob Sivak Lecture Theatre (Optometry room 347), followed by a non-alcoholic reception in the Student Commons area.
As always, seating is limited. Please R.S.V.P. before Friday, November 6th, by sending an e-mail to Nadeera, in order to allow time to prepare individual name tags and ensure there is enough seating reserved for staff and faculty.

The first Canadian interdisciplinary weekend vision rehabilitation conference will be held at the School of Optometry and Vision Science in March 2017. It will be of interest to all professionals who are, or would like to be, involved in low vision rehabilitation. Included is a new lecture, named for Dr George Woo. The inaugural George Woo lecturer will be Joan Stelmack (Director, Low Vision Service, Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, University of Illinois).
Faculty-based heats are over and now it's time to support your fellow colleagues in the University-wide 3MT competition. Winners from each faculty will be competing for a chance to move on to Provincials.
