Dr. Alan Ulsifer, an alumnus (OD '90) of the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science, has been honoured with the Ernst & Young 2012 Prairies Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Dr. Ulsifer, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of FYidoctors, Canada’s largest independent eye care product and service provider.

Dr. Daphne McCulloch will join the faculty of Waterloo’s School of Optometry and Vision Science. She will be appointed to a continuing term as professor with tenure. Dr. McCulloch previously completed her Doctor of Optometry degree (Waterloo), Fellowship in Primary Care (Pennsylvania), and PhD degree (Indiana).
