Spring Term 2022 Workshops & Learning Events 

Organizational and Human Development (OHD) is offering virtual workshops to support the current remote working environment to continue providing learning and development opportunities to the University community. 

Currently, all workshops and events will be online and hosted in Microsoft Teams. An invite will be sent to you by the workshops facilitator(s). If you have questions or have not received your invite prior to the course, please contact ohd@uwaterloo.ca.

NOTE:   We have a new registration process for the OHD Workshops. We have switched our registration to Portal!

  • Employee learning and development records will still be documented in Workday.

Leading and Working in Hybrid Teams (Asynchronous)

In this self-directed workshop series, you will learn quick tips, techniques, and inclusive practices for leading and working in hybrid teams. Once you register, you will receive access to the LEARN course within 2-3 business days. You will also receive an email with further instructions once you are given access.

In this workshop, you will explore your strengths using the VIA Character Strengths assessment. You will explore how your strengths can be used in new ways at work and at home. You will learn how to spot and appreciate strengths in other people including your work colleagues and in doing so create stronger connections with them.

HYBRID Core Development: Building Community through Innovation and Collaboration

This offering of Building Community through Collaboration and Innovation is being delivered in a HYBRID method this term. Some participants will attend in person and some will attend virtually. By registering through the in-person link you are agreeing to attend on-site. If you are feeling unwell, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend in person. Instead, please email us at ohd@uwaterloo.ca to let us know you cannot attend in person and, if you wish, we will send you the email to attend the workshop virtually instead. Please note: A minimum of eight (8) in-person participants are required to move forward with the hybrid offering. If fewer than eight (8) participants register, this workshop will revert to an entirely virtual offering. You will be notified 48 hours ahead of the workshop, should a switch be necessary.

This course will provide learners with an overview of how and why individuals react to change. Through interactive exercises, participants will discover the value of considering the people side of change. In addition, individuals will have an opportunity to learn new strategies they can apply to real change situations.

Successfully Leading and Managing Change

In this interactive workshop, we’ll discover the value in considering the people side of change, covering how and why individuals react to change. Participants will focus on the critical role the manager plays in supporting team members through change and we’ll learn new strategies to apply to real change situations.
