Please reach out to the OHD contact per program to continue this conversation.
Attendance at all online synchronous and asynchronous sessions and in-person (face-to-face) events is mandatory. How much time you spend interacting with the content, will be different for each person.
Our expectations are that each participant invests time into practicing, reading, gathering feedback, and setting short and long-term goals. Participants will set 1-2 hours of meetings with their supporting manager each month to discuss and reinforce the learning.
Past participants have communicated that when time is invested, valuable development is gained.
Please review the Program Dates table for specific dates and times
(*Please note, all in-person events are subject to change in response to a change in government regulations, Public Health Guidelines and/or University policy.)
Supervisors/managers are expected to attend and participate in the Supporting Manager sessions. Further, each month, Supporting Manager will meet with their participant to discuss the content and insights gained.
Ideally, Supporting Managers will fully engage with their participant by making time for the program. This may include taking items from the participant’s ‘plate’ to make time for learning, coaching, reinforcing the content, etc.
Ideally, yes. However, in some units/departments, we recognize that may not be possible. Please reach out to the OHD contact per program to continue this conversation.
A member of the OHD team will meet individually with each participant in the program. Time will be scheduled in between the learning pathways. Coaching conversations will be guided by the goals the participant identifies throughout the program.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
