What is ‘genuine’ leadership, and why does the University of Waterloo have Principles of Leadership? In this workshop you will explore essential leadership qualities and discover the six leadership principles that are fundamental in developing a culture of respect and sustain positive relationships at the university. Examine how each quality contributes to personal and organizational success and assess how you currently practice the Principles of Leadership in your daily interactions.
 

NOTE: This workshop was also previously known as "The Basic Principles" workshop (OHD101).

The goals of this workshop include:

  1. Acknowledge and appreciate the value of the five qualities of genuine leadership.
  2. Learn to build effective working relationships and solve difficult situations using the six Principles of Leadership.
  3. Foster behaviours that promote the Principles and Qualities of Genuine Leadership.

Note:  Employees of the Affiliated and Federated Institutions will be charged $75 to attend any of these courses. Casual employees, typically, cannot enroll in OHD courses.
