Building on strengths
At July's Huron County Culture Change Coalition meeting, the team began to refine the first of three proposed Aspiration statements. Together, the team worked to write about Huron County's ideal dementia care future as though it is already manifested. Building on already existing strengths identified through a rigourous 'Discovery' process, the team worked cooperatively to create bold, provocative and inspirational aspiration statements that will be used as a guidepost for future planning in dementia care in the region.
Once these are done, the group plans to share them widely. Together, the group brainstormed about how to spread the word about the wonderful work that has taken place so far in Huron County, and how to share the aspiration statements in a way that will inspire others to recognize that dementia care works best when it is based on strong, trusting relationships.
