Huron County Culture Change Coalition

The Huron County Culture Change Coalition is a diverse group comprised of several community care organizations and their clients based in Huron County.

The sole community-based CCC in the project, this group includes representatives from the South West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), Saint Elizabeth Health Care, the Alzheimer Society of Huron County, One Care Home and Community Support Services, the University of Windsor, and the Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program (MAREP) at the University of Waterloo.

Consistent with an Appreciative Inquiry approach, the CCC is currently in the Discovery phase where, as a group, they working to discover the best of what is in terms of care for persons living with dementia in the area.

Working with researchers from the Partnerships in Dementia Care (PiDC) Alliance Research team, Culture Change Coalition members have collaborated in identifying relevant stakeholders across HuronCounty, and collaborated to devise a data collection and analysis plan with those stakeholders. The group is nearing the end of the Discovery phase, and is working to find common themes regarding 'what is working well' in Huron County. In the next phase, 'Dream', CCC members will begin to imagine an ideal future for care experiences in Huron County that are grounded in the findings of success in Discovery.
