Saturday, March 6, 2021 8:30 am - Wednesday, March 10, 2021 12:30 am EST (GMT -05:00)

A one-half day symposium for Pittcon 2021 held March 6 – 10, 2021, in New Orleans, LA USA entitled:

"New Developments in Microextraction Technologies for Bioanalysis" – arranged by Professor Janusz Pawliszyn, Department of Chemistry, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario N2L 3AG1, Canada, tel: 519-888-4641, fax: 519-746-0435, e-mail: janusz@uwaterloo.ca.

Microextraction facilitates “chemical biopsy” providing chemical information, but sample remains intact. The flexibility of the approach results in designs of single assembled probes for in vivo investigation, or multi-probe devices compatible with range of multi-well plate systems. Microextraction devices conveniently hyphenate with analytical instrumentation resulting in well integrated processes.

Methodology: Mass Spectrometry (17), Chemometrics (4), Computers, Modeling and Simulation (5), Data Analysis and Manipulation (6), GC/MS (10), LC/MS (14), Sampling and Sample Preparation (25), Portable Instruments (23), Microfluidics/Lab-on-a-Chip (20).

Applications: Bioanalytical (C), Biomedical (D), Neurochemistry (V), High Throughput Chemical Analysis (P), Clinical/Toxicology (F).

Order of speakers:

  1. Ambient Ionization and Microextraction: A Perfect Complement, Dr. Chip Cody cody@jeol.com
  2. Ionic Liquids in Microextraction of DNA, Professor Jared Anderson andersoj@iastate.edu
  3. Microextraction in Protein Binding Investigations, Professor Marcel Musteata Marcel.Musteata@acphs.edu
