Peace speech competition

Wednesday, March 13, 2013 4:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)
The C. Henry Smith Oratorical Contest was established in 1974 to foster continuing thought and dialogue about peace issues. Each year, Conrad Grebel University College holds a local competition.  The winner from the Conrad Grebel competition sends their speech to the bi-national (Canada and US) level where all Mennonite and Brethren in Christ colleges and universities across Canada and the U.S. are eligible to participate. All residents or associates of Conrad Grebel University College, as well as students enrolled in a Peace and Conflict Studies program, are encouraged to participate. Cash prizes are awarded for the winning speech(es).
This year’s event will be held on March 13 during chapel. All students are invited to take part or come and hear some outstanding speeches. Contact Eric Lepp in the PACS Department at eric.lepp@uwaterloo.ca to indicateyour interest in participating or for more information regarding contest rules and regulations.
