PACS Student Society invites you to a film screening of War Child.
This documentary is based on the life of Emmanuel Jal, a hip hop artist and former child soldier. Jal will be performing at the PJSA Student Conference on October 18th, and this is a great way to get familiar with his story.
At the age of 7, Emmanuel Jal was swept up into the rebel army and forced to fight in Sudan's bloody civil war for nearly 5 years. He later escaped with 400 fellow child soldiers, 16 of whom survived. With the help of British aid worker Emma McCune, Jal then fled to Kenya. Now, Emmanuel Jal is a globally recognized hip hop artist with his unique musical style that spreads the message of peace, as well as a humanitarian advocate for social justice and human rights.
