Who are PACS students?

Our graduates become community leaders!

Since conflict is part of everyday life, our students use the concepts and skills learned in a diverse number of fields. PACS graduates become community leaders in areas such as conflict management, human resources, international development, teaching, law, graduate study and other disciplines.

Who are PACS students?

All of our PACS students have a variety of different interests and passions. PACS is a flexible program where students are really able to have an academic experience that meets to their specific interests. 


Cassie Myers

Cassie Myers In her final year of PACS, with a powerful idea, a competitive start-up, and a fierce amount of determination, Cassie Myers is just beginning.

Konica KocharKonica Kochar is a PACS graduate, a law student, a world traveller, and a believer in a more beautiful world.

Kayleigh Swanson From an out-of-province experience, to a summer in Uganda, and right back to the University of Waterloo, Kayleigh Swanson and her co-op positions have done it all.   <--break->

Anna Giesbrecht

Anna GiesbrechtWhat do Conrad Grebel, restorative justice, and Brazil all have in common? The answer is Anna Giesbrecht. An Arts and Business student with a major in PACS and a minor in International Studies, Anna has taken full advantage of the incredible opportunities that co-op offers.

Sukhraaj Shergill

Sukhraaj ShergillSukhraaj ‘Raj’ Shergill is an Arts and Business Student working towards a Joint Honours in Peace and Conflict Studies and Legal Studies.  With a dream of attending Law School, Raj attributes much of his learning not only to his schooling, but also to his Co-op positions and volunteer work.

Catherine You

Catherine YouCatherine was a math student who has a keen interest in complex social issues. Catherine now works for a company called Firetail. Firetail is a consulting firm for socially conscious organizations.

Elle Crevits

Elle Crevits Elle has created her own start-up : Food Not Waste, where she works to divert food waste to a variety of community organizations in the Kitchener/Waterloo region.

Rachel Urban Shipley

Rachel Urban Shipley Rachel has done an internship with Project Ploughshares, an NGO that conducts research to inform and advance policies related to war prevention, armed violence and peace building.

Hilary Sadowsky

Hilary Sadowsky Hilary did a field studies placement in Uganda where she worked with an organization call One4Another International, a pediatric surgical program.
