As we enter the last weeks of term make sure to check out some of these great events and opportunities!

Highlights:

  • PACS end-of-term Pizza Lunch is April 6 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Make sure to register with this link by April 3.

  • This week the University of Waterloo welcomed an Eagle Staff to our institution. Read more here about the significance of this for reconciliation on campus.

Upcoming Events/Opportunities


PACS Society is Accepting Nominations!

PACS Society is now accepting nominations for the 2023-2024 executive team! The available positions are:

  • President
  • VP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,
  • VP Events 
  • VP Communications 
  • VP Finance

PACS Society is run by five executive members to organize educational and social events for PACS students and to contribute to a vibrant PACS community. They represent all undergraduate PACS students and connect PACS to the larger UW community.
PACS majors and minors at any year level are eligible to join the team. Your position will last for Spring 2023, Fall 2023, and Winter 2024, and you must be located in Waterloo in Fall 2023 and Winter 2024.

The Nomination Process
Self-nominations and peer nominations are accepted. All nominees must confirm if they would like to run. Voting will take place in person at the PACS Pizza Lunch on Thursday, April 6 at 12:30 pm. The link to the nomination form is: https://forms.gle/vJdT4WBebxKq7vpN6

The nomination deadline is Friday, March 31 at 11:59 pm ET.

End of Term PACS Pizza Lunch

PACS end-of-term Pizza Lunch is April 6 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm!
This is a great chance to relax, catch up with friends and fellow students, and have a free pizza lunch!

Make sure to register with this link by April 3 to ensure quantities. You are welcome to bring a friend!

 

Panel on Designing for Disability and Accessibility

On March 30 from 2 - 3:15pm at ECI1 join Triskal de Haven, Dr. Cayley MacArthur, and Dr. Katta Spiel for a panel talk on disability and accessibility. 
This event is part of the "ADE for Game Communities: Enculturing Anti- Racism, Decolonization, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ADE) in Games Research and Creation".

Map the System Campus Finals

On April 12 from 12 - 2pm for the campus finals of the Map the System competition here at UWaterloo! Of the 55 teams that entered, 5 teams will compete to move on to the Canada-wide finals and the chance to compete at the global finals in Oxford. Teams will present their complex problem landscapes with the chance to win generous prizes donated by Kindred Credit UnionMennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), and the Waterloo Institute for Complexity and Innovation (WICI).

This event will be happening in the Great Hall on the first floor of Conrad Grebel University College. Come listen to teams present, learn more about the Map the System competition, and be inspired by students' analysis of global social and environmental issues.

Art Exhibit: Your Walls Can(not) Divide Us

Thank you to all the Grebel residents who were able to see the Gallery despite the lousy weather! The exhibit is still up until the end of April so make sure to head up to The Center for Peace Advancement to check it out check out the photos and take part in the interactive wall!
This exhibit includes photos of street art and political graffiti from a range of conflict-affected areas, and there will be an interactive wall where you are able to leave your own 'mark'.

Writing and Communication Centre

The Writing and Communication Centre is an academic support unit that supports students, staff, and faculty as they build communication excellence at the University of Waterloo. They offer learning resources and online tutoring as well as many more helpful resources. 

The Centre for Career Action

The Centre for Career Action (CCA) is offering services in 2022.
