Zero Waste Week: Home Edition
Zero Waste Week is an initiative run by UWaterloo's Sustainability Office. From October 19-23, you will be encouraged to take the waste mason jar challenge to get a sense of how much waste you generate in one week. The Sustainability Office will also be sharing resources through their social media, such as:

Global Insights Series: Global Resources: Scarcity, Sustainability and Security
This week's edition, taking place on Thursday, October 8th from 11 AM-12 PM, will feature Andrea Collins, University of Waterloo/BSIA; Garrett Graddy-Lovelace, American University; and Tim Wegenast, University of Konstanz.
Impact of Social Sciences and Humanities Conference
Federation Vice-Chair Mike DeGagné will be speaking at a plenary session on SSH Research Impact in Global Crises on October 15, and another on Connecting Research with the Broader Community on October 16. The chair of the Federation's Congress Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization, Malinda S. Smith, will also be speaking on October 15 on Structuring HSS Impact through Collaboration. Federation Board member Sandra Lapointe has played a key part in organizing the event.
