Much of Ratzlaff’s research focused on Indigenous/settler relations in southern Ontario. He is currently helping to co-author a biography about an individual’s journey healing from the intergenerational traumas caused by settler colonialism. Ratzlaff continues to explore ways in which storytelling can be used as a force for peacebuilding.

From 2014-2016, Ratzlaff worked as a coordinator for Worth a Second Look, a project of The Working Centre. He continues to stay connected with the downtown Kitchener community by contributing to The Community Edition, volunteering for local organizations, and being involved in a local homebrew club.
