Welcome to the School of Pharmacy

The School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo is the first new pharmacy school in Canada in 20 years and housed in a state-of-the-art education and research building on the Health Sciences Campus in downtown Kitchener. 

We offer an innovative undergraduate pharmacy curriculum that integrates foundational knowledge in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences with applied skills in the clinical, behavioural and social sciences to prepare our graduates to serve as medication therapy experts.

    On Tuesday, Waterloo Pharmacy hosted a public lecture on Ramadan and health, inviting those who celebrate Ramadan and those who provide healthcare services to learn how the religious celebration can impact health. The Muslim holy month of Ramadan begins at the end of May this year. Approximately 4% of people in Waterloo Region are Muslims and most of them will observe Ramadan at this time.

  2. May 16, 2017Shaping the future of pharmaceutical research: Waterloo Pharmacy and Apotex announce latest partnership Apotex representatives speaking with grad students at Pharmacy Research Day

    The University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy is delighted to announce a partnership with Apotex that will help shape the future of pharmaceutical research here at Waterloo. Apotex has been involved with the University since it hired its first co-op students in 1984. To date, the company has hired more than 700 co-op students and over 120 Waterloo graduates from a variety of faculties. Apotex has also helped support a number of student-related initiatives here at the School of Pharmacy.

    April 26 marked the first ever Pharmacy Research Day, a conference-style event where keynote speakers and pharmacy graduate students presented research on topics ranging from the cellular basis of diabetes, to nanotechnology for gene therapy, to potential bias in pharmacist treatment of visible minorities.
