Counselling and student success services

Melody Mann, Counsellor, will be on site in Pharmacy PHR 5009 every Wednesday from 11:30 am-7:30 pm.  You may schedule an appointment with Melody by calling 519-888-4567, ext. 32655 during business hours.  

Walk-in and emergency appointments are available at the Counselling Services Office on main campus (you can find out more about these appointments by calling 519.888.4567  ext. 32655). If you require transportation from Pharmacy to your appointment (and then back to Pharmacy), and are unable to take the ION, you may ask Security to book a taxi for you. 

If you require immediate telephone intervention through one of the on-line supports available, we can make arrangements for a private space.  You can reach Pharmacy Reception directly by calling 519-888-4567, ext. 84499 or go to the reception office on the main floor (PHR 1003).  Ask Security to book you a space after hours.

Additional resources for pharmacy students and pharmacists

All pharmacy students and pharmacists registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) are also eligible to use the Ontario Pharmacy support program offered by OCP. If you are registered or licensed to practice in a jurisdiction outside of Ontario these services are not available to you.

RxPRN

The Rx Pharmacy Peer Relief Network, a  student group that offers mentoring and social support services to pharmacy students who need someone to talk to regarding life stresses and mental health.

A resource hub on Learn that shares study tips, stress management techniques and much more. All pharmacy students are automatically enrolled in RxforSuccess.

Peer Success Coaching

An interactive learning process between a Peer Success Coach and student. Peer Success Coaches are upper-year pharmacy students. In success coaching appointments, you are provided with  resources and learning strategies, and have an opportunity to reflect on your academic goals, identify your learning style, and develop personalized action plans.

Peer Facilitated Study Sessions

Pharmacy student-led study sessions that model "how to learn" with "what to learn." Groups aim to help students develop a more sophisticated approach to learning, while giving them the tools to think critically about course materials. Peer Facilitated Study Sessions are available for specific pharmacy courses.
