Optimizing Our Academic Potential Workshop

Facilitated by Professor Margaret (Mags) Watson, of the Universities of Strathclyde and Bath (honorary) in the UK, the purpose of this workshop is to highlight behaviours with which academics should engage to enhance their effectiveness in their academic roles.  The content is informed by the results of interviews with an international cohort of successful academics from a wide range of disciplines and supplemented by literature.  The hands-on 2 hour workshop will be interactive with didactic sessions, small group work and group discussion.  

Dr. Watson has over 27 years’ experience of academic research and has also been a registered pharmacist for over 30 years. She is an internationally recognised and award-winning researcher with extensive experience of working across a range of sectors. In addition to running her consultancy business, Watson Research and Training Limited, Mags holds Professorial positions with the University of Strathclyde and the University of Bath (honorary).  She is also a certified coach and mentor who is committed to the development and support of academics, particularly those who are early-to-mid career, to ensure they optimise their potential and that their research leads to societal impact.

All members of the School of Pharmacy are invited to attend the event.  Graduate students are especially encouraged to attend.
