The School of Pharmacy held its first Business Awards Ceremony on April 5. Presented at the ceremony were the Scotiabank Pharmacy Entrepreneurship Award and the Pharmasave Industrial Case Study Competition Award.
Congratulations to Dr. Shawn Wettig who has been awarded an Early Researcher Award from the Province of Ontario for his project entitled "Rational Design of Novel Surface Active Compounds for Improving Non-viral DNA Transfection Efficiencies". This award in the amount of $190,000 will provide support for Shawn’s research over a 5 year period.
Congratulations to Cynthia Richard who is one of two recipients of the Excellence in Science Teaching Awards (ESTA) for this year. As stated by Barb Moffatt:
Cynthia is recognized for her innovative and insightful contributions to the teaching of Pharmacy students. Both her colleagues and peers enthusiastically supported her nomination for an ESTA. Her commitment to creative teaching make technically-intensive course material relevant and interesting. Her students enthusiastically commented on her exceptional communication skills, organization and personal support.
