On Saturday, February 20, the School of Pharmacy was proud to work with the Ray of Hope Community Centre to provide a comfortable rest stop for the annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 5km or 10km walk.
Two thirds of adults over the age of 60 sit for more than 8.5 hours of their waking day.
This is a worrying fact for healthcare professionals, as many chronic illnesses seen in the elderly – illnesses like diabetes, osteoporosis, and hypertension – can be prevented with an active lifestyle and regular physical activity.
In January, the School of Pharmacy was pleased to host Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy Executive Director Dayle Acorn. CFP visited the School as a stop on a cross-country book launch of the first new pharmacy management textbook since 1988.
