If you live in a rural Ontario community, you face greater challenges accessing health resources than your urban counterparts. There are fewer health services and supports available nearby, and residents often have to travel far for appointments.

Two third-year pharmacy students recognized with TEVA Professional Practice Award

In March, Alicia Dakins and Mara Faggioni were recognized with the TEVA Professional Practice Award. This award honours two third-year students who have shown a high level of professional behaviour both inside and outside the classroom and have a record of academic excellence.

Alumni Sheri and Matt DiGiovanni met in pharmacy school as members of Waterloo Pharmacy’s first cohort. Today, they’re married with two kids and are making a difference for patients in the Listowel, Wingham, North Huron and North Perth area.

Ontario government awards $3.4 million to Waterloo researchers for infrastructure

Twenty-nine University of Waterloo researchers will receive $3.4 million from the provincial government to further research innovation in Ontario. Pharmacy Prof. Emmanuel Ho is one of the recipients, and the funding will support his research into developing new methods of stopping HIV transmission. Ho describes the work in the following:
