Angela Heintzman joined the University of Waterloo's School of Pharmacy in January 2015 as the Regional Clinical Coordinator for Thunder Bay and the the surrounding area.
Angela graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia. After graduating she practiced as a pharmacist at Shoppers Drug Mart and at St. Joseph's Hospital in Thunder Bay. Since 2010 she has been practising full time as a pharmacist at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, an acute care facility serving the healthcare needs of people living in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
Angela is a clinical pharmacist in a medical unit and attends bedside rounds with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine Internal Medicine Clinical Teaching Unit. She provides both pharmaceutical care to patients and educational opportunities to a mix of fourth-year medical students as well as residents from family practice, surgical and internal medicine. She also provides pharmaceutical education to nurses, whether it be medication reconciliation training or a quick briefing on a new drug.
Angela looks forward to working with preceptors and the University of Waterloo's PharmD students to improve the care and health of patients in Northern Ontario.
