Caitlin Carter is the Pharmacy Liaison Librarian at the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy, and holds an MLIS degree from Western University (2010). As librarian, Caitlin is responsible for building the collection of pharmacy resources, as well as providing research assistance and instructional support to School of Pharmacy students, faculty, and staff.
Prior to joining the University of Waterloo, Caitlin worked for four years as a clinical librarian for the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a clinical librarian in a hospital setting, Caitlin worked closely with various healthcare practitioners on research projects and delivered instruction on searching medical and scientific databases. In addition, Caitlin attended rounds twice weekly on the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), where she had the opportunity to assist pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals with their point-of-care information needs.
Caitlin was previously the President of the Saskatchewan Health Libraries Association and has presented at the Canadian Health Libraries Association Conference. Her research interests include: information literacy, interactive learning, systematic reviews, and academic integrity.
