Regional Clinical Coordinator, Sault Ste. Marie; Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor

Carla Deluco photoCarla graduated in 2004 from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan with a doctorate in pharmacy.

For the first four years after completing her pharmacy degree Carla worked as a part-time clinical pharmacist for the renal/dialysis program at her local hospital. Medication management and education were her main areas of interest and involvement. She also worked full time in a community setting for a local company.

Carla and her family reside in Sault Ste. Marie, where she practices and can focus her efforts on community activities and involvement. After she had children, Carla focused her time on her main professional passion — community pharmacy practice.

With a focus on retail and community pharmacy, Carla has worked closely with physicians and other practitioners to be an advocate and champion for patient care. In her primary location, Group Health Centre Pharmacy, she has been involved in many efforts to collaborate with specialists, primary care physicians and other healthcare providers.

In her spare moments Carla enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. She especially enjoys time at camp with family and friends.

Mentoring and taking on students is also a passion of hers and Carla looks forward to being able to help shape and educate Waterloo's next generation of pharmacy professionals.
