Jason Wentzell joined the University of Waterloo’s School of Pharmacy in April 2014 as a Regional Clinical Coordinator, representing the Ottawa and Brockville region.
Jason graduated with a BScPharm (Honours) from Dalhousie University and completed his pharmacy residency at The Ottawa Hospital. He has worked as clinical pharmacist in internal medicine and psychiatry and currently practices as an inpatient medical oncology pharmacist at The Ottawa Hospital.
Jason continues to serve as a preceptor and mentor to several pharmacy students and residents at The Ottawa Hospital. He is actively involved in research initiatives, including serving as a preceptor for residency research projects, working with the Simulation in Medical Oncology Education (SIMONE) group and The Ottawa Hospital Cardio-Oncology Collaboration. In addition, Jason is an active member of the Pharmacy Education Committee, has taught several pharmacy technician bridging courses and is a consultant for The Ottawa Hospital toxicology service.
Jason is excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the University of Waterloo’s innovative, ambitious and capable PharmD students as they transition to contemporary pharmacy practice. By serving as the link between pharmacy preceptors and their respective students, he wishes to ensure that patient care rotations are completed meaningfully and professionally and that they benefit the host site, students, patients and the profession alike.
