Biography
Stephanie is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia and graduated from the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 2011. She completed an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency program in 2011-2012 at the Horizon Health Network in Moncton, New Brunswick and subsequently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Post Baccalaureate Doctor of Pharmacy in 2014.
Since obtaining her PharmD, Stephanie has been working as a Primary Care Pharmacist at the Queen’s Family Health Team Belleville Site. As a Primary Care Pharmacist Stephanie works closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive medication therapy management, chronic disease management and assist in medication deprescribing. Stephanie is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and Certified Respiratory Educator. Stephanie also works as a Nephrology Pharmacist at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre in the kidney transplant program.
Stephanie has a passion for teaching and practice-based research. She provides teaching and mentorship to medical learners through the Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University. She is also a clinical preceptor at The University of Waterloo for pharmacy students. Since 2019, Stephanie has served as the Research Lead for the Belleville-Quinte Site at the Queen’s University Department of Family Medicine where she supports family medicine residents through the development and execution of their scholarly research project. In addition to supervising resident research Stephanie is also involved in several practice-based research initiatives and is part of a research team who received Canadian Institutes of Health Research Grant Funding in 2019.
In her free time Stephanie enjoys curling, golfing, and hiking. Stephanie is also a cat mom to three black rescue cats and enjoys spending time with friends and family. Stephanie is excited to be the new Regional Clinical Coordinator for the Kingston-Belleville region! She is passionate about pharmacy, providing students with inspiring practice experiences and cannot wait to show students what Kingston-Belleville region has to offer!
