Philosophy, feminism, and science

Philosophy, Feminism, and Science

Science is a tool invented by humans. Like any tool, it can work better for some people and in some contexts than others. In this class we will use feminist philosophy, focusing on power, money, and social and institutional structures, to explore what it means for science to work well, diagnose cases in which it seems to work poorly and consider how we can make it work better. Our goal is to understand and support just scientific practices that make the world a better place.
