Philosophy awards

The seventh annual Department of Philosophy Awards were presented on April 13, 2016. The event celebrated philosophy students' achievements over the past year and includes the Angus Kerr-Lawson Essay Prize and Sandra Burt Essay Prize in Women's Studies.

Kristine Totzke
The Sandra Burt Essay Award honours Dr. Sandra Burt, the first Coordinator of Women’s
Studies at Waterloo. It is awarded to an upper year Women’s Studies major who has
written an outstanding paper.

Angus Kerr-Lawson Essay Prize in Philosophy
Nathan Haydon
This award recognizes the best essay submitted in a graduate or undergraduate philosophy course on a topic in American or naturalistic philosophy.
