The Observatory will be open for a special public tour, offering a chance for elementary and secondary school students and families to look at the Sun through a specially filtered telescope during March break (Waterloo students, staff, faculty, and other members of the public are also welcome). This will be preceded by a short talk on astronomy (around 30 minutes) plus an opportunity to ask questions, followed by a tour of the dome. In the event of bad weather, the observing will not be possible, but the talk and tour of facilities will go ahead. [No optical telescope on Earth can see through cloud - if it's too cloudy to see sunlight on the ground with the unaided eye, then we won't be able to see the Sun in the sky through our specially filtered telescope either.]
