Phys10 - Journeying the Quantum, the Cosmic, and the Arts

The Universe, our precious home is an extraordinary place, from the microscopic fragments that together make us who we are to the human realm to cosmic scales. Here, I share with you my adventures in exploring these spaces. In describing how I made my scientific and geographical journey from my undergraduate days to my current faculty position, I will offer glimpses of the wonders of quantum physics, of strange states of matter, and of the whispers of black holes. Since the past several years, I have been collaboratively bringing together my other lifelong passion--the arts--with the sciences. I will share some of our work in theatre, visual arts, and more, including performances such as Quantum Voyages and the Universe in Motion.
