Standardizing the standard cosmological model

It’s broadly agreed that we have a great cosmological model capable of explaining all the most robust available data. But is it the right model, and how can we test that? How might the model change and evolve in the future? And how can we decide when to declare it good enough and stop trying to break it? I describe various statistical tools that let us address these types of question, and illustrate with some current applications made by the Dark Energy Survey collaboration, combining the DES data with that from the Planck Satellite and other sources.
