Towards a global quantum internet with quantum communication satellites

Monday, February 11, 2019 12:30 pm - 12:30 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Phys10 Undergraduate Seminar Series

Thomas Jennewein
Thomas Jennewein

Associate Professor
Department of Physics & Astronomy and Institute for Quantum Computing
University of Waterloo

I will outline the concept and quest for a quantum internet, and then discuss the issue of long-distances in quantum communications. Quantum communication satellites can help bridge large distances, and I will present our work towards designing and building the Canadian quantum satellite mission QEYSSat.

There will be Timbits.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
