Quantum physics leads Canada Research Chair announcements at Waterloo

Roger Melko and Kevin Resch from the Department of Physics and Astronomy have been named Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs by the Government of Canada for their work in quantum physics.

“Quantum research is a strategic priority for the University of Waterloo and the research happening here has the potential for global impact,” says Feridun Hamdullahpur, President and Vice-Chancellor of Waterloo.

This year, at the CUPC

The Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference (CUPC, http://www.cupc.ca) is an annual conference for undergraduate physics students to share their research experiences with their peers, and to learn about the array of research opportunities awaiting them.

A delegation of our own undergraduates presented talks at the conference in Hamilton, October 17-20.
