The 2016 Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) Congress was held June 12 - 17 in Ottawa, Ontario. Awards for outstanding research were presented at the Recognition Gala on June 16.
Dr. Roger Melko officially received the 2016 Herzberg Medal for early-career achievement, which was originally announced in April.
The 2016 CAP-CRM Prize in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics was awarded to adjunct faculty Freddy Cachazo of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics.
The 2016 Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Chris Pugh, a PhD student working with Thomas Jennewein.
The Stoicheff Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student who has demonstrated both research excellence and significant service to the optics or physics community.
