The School of Planning in partnership with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering are pleased to present From Silos to Synergy, a virtual event addressing how Planners and Engineers can collaborate to support societal change.

Hosted by Planner-in-Residence Rob Horne, and Engineer-in-Residence Michael Murray, and moderated by Turkstra Talks Chair Nadine Ibrahim, and Director, School of Planning and Associate Professor Markus Moos, From Silos to Synergy discusses how cities develop and function in the endeavours of engineers and planners and how students and faculty in these two disciplines often have limited opportunity to works and study collaboratively.

Horne and Murray believe in the advantages of collaboration and interdisciplinarity for the benefit of our cities and urban prosperity. This session is a first step toward bridging the two disciplines further, highlights examples of the shortfalls of working in disciplinary silos and the benefits of synergy among planners and engineers.
