U.W.P.S. Crime Report– Week of Oct. 14 to 20, 2014

Arrest for Bike Parts Thefts:

At 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 15th a U.W.P.S. officer observed two males acting suspiciously at a bike rack located between the QNC and MC buildings.  Subsequent investigation revealed evidence that these males had been stealing parts from bicycles at the rack. Both were found to be in possession of various bike parts including lights and fenders along with a set of bolt cutters.

Both males were arrested and transported to W.R.P.S. North Division.

Suspect #1, a 34 year old Waterloo man, is charged with:

Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, Possession of break-in tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance. This male is to appear in Kitchener Court on Nov. 28, 2014.

Suspect #2, a 30 year old Waterloo man, is charged with:

Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000. This male was held in custody for a Show Cause hearing.            

Neither suspect is affiliated to the University of Waterloo, both have been trespassed from campus.

             

Theft from EC3 construction site:

On Oct. 14th at approximately 3:40 p.m. a male was seen driving onto the construction site at EC3 off Phillip St.  The male was seen to load an orange “Stihl” concrete saw into a vehicle and drive off.

The vehicle is described as a newer beige/brown SUV with partial Ontario license plate that includes the letters “BVLK”.

                                          

Thefts:

  • Bikes (3):

o   Between 1:40 and  4:40 p.m. on Oct. 15th

     * Bike rack outside main entrance to CIF, cable lock cut

        · Men’s Kona Stuff 21 speed mountain/dirt bike style, oversized tires,           orange

o   Between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. on Oct, 15th

     * Outside rear entrance to SLC, cable lock cut

        · Men’s BMX Trick Bike, black

o   Between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 17th

     * On patio by V1 cafeteria, cable lock but

        · Men’s BMX GT, red with orange accents
