History

I was born in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1989. I got my BSc and MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Later, I worked in Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) for 3 years as a machine tool engineer. I started my PhD program in the University of Waterloo since 2018 January.

Research interests

My Master's thesis topic is about structural topology optimization and primarily focusing on Bidirectional Evolutionary Structural Optimization (BESO) method. Afterwards, I applied structural topology optimization to machine tool structure design when I was working in ITRI. Then, I switched my research field to the control, modelling and identification of machine tool feed drive. And I currently focus on the modelling and identification of multi-axis dynamic systems.

Hobbies and activities

I enjoy hiking and river tracing in Taiwanese mountains. I also enjoy many kinds of sports like volleyball, tennis and baseball.
