A big welcome to all students! Whether you’re here for the first time, or returning to continue your program, it’s great to see all of you on campus.
I want to connect with students about the fall term, both to welcome you and to help ensure we keep in touch right up to the holiday break.
If you follow me @UWaterlooPres you’ll know I’ve been visiting some first year classes, with many more to come throughout the month of September.
To all first year students: even though I met many of you at Warrior Welcome and other Orientation events, I want to make sure you’re getting off to a great start. I’ll see many of you at the lectures I drop in on, and there will be other opportunities to keep in touch, too.
Join me for the President and Senior Staff Lunch on September 12 in the SLC Great Hall from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thanks to the FEDS for your partnership in making the event happen.
On October 5, I’ll be in the SLC for a “Stop & Talk”, so come by the Great Hall at about 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. No agenda beyond making myself available to chat with as many of you as possible to hear how you’re doing and what’s on your mind.
Next up, my annual President’s Town Hall will be Tuesday, November 22 at 10 a.m. at Fed Hall. It’s my chance to give you an update on where the university is headed, and it’s your chance to raise any questions, concerns, or exciting news that’s going on for you or your peers, faculty, department, or campus organization. We’ll be connecting via social media in the run up to the event to make sure you remember to come out and participate.
That’s it for now, but once again: whether you’re on campus for the first time this fall or you’re back for more, Welcome Home!
