The end of Fall 2017 classes has come and as you begin to prepare for your exams and final assignments I would like to offer my deepest congratulations.
Whether this was your first term on campus or your final Fall term here at the University of Waterloo, know that you have added to our long legacy of excellence over the past three months. Every student who has stepped on campus, attended a class, taken part in student athletics or joined a campus community group has added to this legacy.
I was delighted to have met and spoken to so many of you and loved it when you showed your enthusiasm about your studies and experiences here at UW. I hope your term was fulfilling.
Now it is another time of excitement – exam time! But, I know this time can also bring added stress to many. This is not uncommon. But should you feel stressed about your exams, as many of us have while going through exam periods, I invite you to reach out to the Student Success Office, Counselling Services, your wonderful residence dons, your professors, your peers, friends, family and us here in Needles Hall for support.
Know that as you work through your exams, you are not alone. You have a community of supporters all around you wishing you only the best. I am one of them.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing you in Winter 2018!
