This past week, the University of Waterloo welcomed the Spring 2016 graduating class into our global alumni family.
Congratulations, Grads! It was a privilege to take in your ceremonies and meet so many of you. As I said at convocation: you're going to make us very proud, and in fact, you already have.
You helped change UWaterloo for the better, by speaking up for your generation and insisting we reflect your values back to you: values like entrepreneurship, gender equity, and global perspectives. You made this university stronger by being engaged members of our campus community. We'll always be grateful for that.
I know you and your families join me in thanking the hundreds of faculty, staff, and volunteers who co-ordinate UWaterloo's convocation ceremonies.
To relive the fun, watch and share Things Everyone Does for #UWaterlooGrad But Doesn’t Talk About.
And if you haven't seen it yet, read my op-ed for the Waterloo Region Record about your special place in this community. You have roots here, and I hope you'll keep in touch.
